First #BeeWalk of 2022 was full of sunshine and lots of joy 🐝💚

Found 28 buff tailed, 1 garden, 4 early and 6 tree bumblebees at #NewportWetlands today.

It won't be long until my beloved Shrill carders will emerge!

Highlights were definitely finding the male long horned bee and Shrill carder queen 🌻

The curse of the survey!... Did my first Beewalk of the year and didn't see a single bumblebee in the garden, despite having quite a few elsewhere, as well as these solitary bees. Then, when I got back, a queen Buff-tailed Bumblebee practically flew into my face! 😂
