#BethMazur I don't know if the love we have for you would have kept you here longer. You stayed for as long as you could, and I am so grateful for that. We are all left wanting more of you. I miss you so much.
Iโll always remember #bethmazur this way:
Visiting her and Brian in Hawaii, we drank coconuts under the stars, hiked on beautiful coasts, prayed at a Hindu temple, and snuck into a luau.
She helped w/ my book, coached me on my Harvard apps, & was always ready w/ dating advice
#BethMazur is one of the main reasons many of us are in advocacy today. She helped create a more community-focused vision that resonated with us all. She wasn't in it for her name to be known; she was in it for us all to get better & get there by treating each other well.
The family of Beth Mazur will be holding a memorial service for Beth on January 13, 2024 in San Francisco with remote attendance options.
Beth touched many lives, and everyone who wants to attend is welcome. Details will be posted once finalized. #BethMazur
Even as I was just one in a sea of people with ME that #BethMazur crossed internet pathways with in the course of her immense work for the community, every time I interacted with Beth I was met with kindness, and I know there are so, so many people who would say the same.
#MEAction Network I'm so sorry. RIP Beth ๐ฏ๐ค

It is not lost on me that TWO heroes in the disability community have their memorials today. RIP #BethMazur and Ady Barkan. We MUST find treatments for #MECFS and #ALSAwareness . We can NOT keep losing people. This has to stop.
#BethMazur was an incredible ally, fierce advocate, and a dear friend who I will miss so very much.
Her approach & advice was from years of suffering and advocating. She understood the complexities of advocacy better than anyone.
She was a beacon of hope for me and so many.
I didn't have the opportunity to meet #BethMazur but every time we lose #pwME , esp one of our 'ill-ders,' I am struck by how our society weaponizes illness and disability & forces us to individually metabolize the despair, yet does nothing to resource us.
#LongCovid
May you rest in peace, #BethMazur
Thank you from the bottom of the hearts of all the persons who suffer #MECFS

In May 2020, #BethMazur and Brian Vastag wrote this piece in the Washington Post about the risks of long-term illness from COVID. A rare moment she put her name on something.
Grateful for your remembrances, Julie, of #BethMazur โs life/spirit. And for focusing on absence of effective ME tx as the real perpetrator. Letโs expand Bethโs legacy by intensifying research on causes/mechanisms to uncover tx targets. Someday, perhaps, even paths for prevention?
Rest in peace #BethMazur . From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you did.
I canโt keep up with how many lives #MECFS has claimed this year. It goes beyond sorrow โ at this point, itโs anger that weโre left to die.
Like Jennie Spotila says: enough. We need a cure. Now.
It's like reading someone else's journal that I've read before. It's me and Beth chatting, but it's not me. Hard to read, but happy to remember. She was more helpful and encouraging then I could have imagined. I'm sorry we feel out of touch... #BethMazur
