Maybe a new bridge on Kingsbury Road, Mildmay / Dalston in mid-2024. A huge shame to see very valuable public children's space on St Jude St sacrificed, but I'm sure lots of people will be pleased to see it reopen. #cs1 #dalston #islington #cycleway1

Cycleway1 *is* rubbish but with Islington Council Mildmay LTN on the way it could be hugely improved with the promised-but-never-delivered Hoxton East LTN covering Pitfield Street and Whitmore Road & proper filters to protect Paul Street.

Scary encounter with a raging driver this morning on Heathland Rd #Cycleway1 . Was overtaking another person riding a bicycle and he came speeding from behind, shouted abuse out of the window before very nearly clipping my front wheel during a nasty punishment pass. Horrible. 🤬

Routes like #Cycleway1 are perfectly fine to have AS WELL AS a protected route on the main road, but not INSTEAD of it. It just doesn’t, and will never, work as a joined up, coherent and inviting route for residents in Tottenham and Stamford Hill. It’s a mess.
Is Saddle There Is? In London, part of #Cycleway1 and a pedestrian route is cut off indefinitely with no timescale for a fix, but instead we are forced to ride on a really poor road, and make turns across traffic on a major road with no protection or signal phase. Fixed that for you.

Still overwhelming majority come on foot/bike. Helped by Hackney’s extensive LTNs allowing good active travel & on Cycleway1
