Last week, the Senate passed #KeirasLaw mandating training for federal judges on IPV and coercive control.

Ontario must also do its part, with judges and other legal professionals in family courts.

We must work to better protect women and girls escaping abusive relationships.

The final reading for #keiraslaw will be undertaken tomorrow Thursday March 23/23 and if approved will be passed into law for all Canadians.

Humbled to be joined by Dr. Jennifer Kagan and Philip Viater as the Strengthening Safety and Modernizing Justice Act is introduced.

If passed, this Bill would support judicial education related to gender-based violence for provincially appointed judges & justices of the peace.
