This article was apt reading on the train back from the Glasgow and the ' #Legacy150 - The museum will not be decolonised' conference at the David Livingstone Birthplace, looking at these issues and the various solutions.
#Legacy150 would like to thank everyone who made the conference such a success. Special thanks to the amazing folk at DHI none of this would be possible without funding from Faculty of Arts and Humanities and finally huge thanks to David Livingstone Birthplace and National Library of Scotland for hosting and supporting us!

Over the years, various Livingstone commemorative stamps have been issued across the world. Shown here is a set of four stamps issued in Malawi in 1973 to mark the 100th anniversary of Livingstone's death. We currently have them on display in the museum [BLTDL20963.2] #Legacy150
Here is another one for the philatelists out there! One of our volunteers, Gordon, is an enthusiastic collector of Livingstone-related stamps and postmarks. We are delighted to share these fantastic images from his collection. #Legacy150
Having seen Dirk and Mary Ton use Polycam3D to discuss returning objects taken from colonies at #Legacy150 , I gave it a try and did some 3D scans of some Hoglets (Baby Hedgehogs 🦔) that Lucienne Cummings had needle-felted at some point. Very easy to create a 3D model!
In our final film from the museum exhibition, we hear from academic and activist Sir Geoff Palmer as he reflects on how Livingstone himself may have wanted to be remembered across new generations.
With thanks to Scotland Malawi Partnership. #Legacy150
