This interesting hoard of silver coins of Alfred the Great (some bearing the name of Plegmund, Archbishop of Canterbury) has just been acquired by The Higgins Bedford . Discovered in Central Bedfordshire, the finders didn't have permission to detect - and thus received no reward.

My #FindsFriday and #Museum30 music theme 🎶... Imagine Dragons! This Post Medieval belt hook fastener dates to AD 1550-1650 or possibly later. This example was discovered in Staffordshire and features dragon terminals with gaping mouths!

After living on the run for over 50 years, investigators finally got some insight into what happened to these escaped criminals.

#FindsFriday is something we don't see everyday the openwork terminal of an 11th or 12th century staff! Often associated with priest's croziers they appear to have been used more widely.
