A bit of a surprise in the #SloaneHerbarium NHM Botany today as I continue with work to inventory the collection. I have never seen a folio like this before. A work of art... but difficult to count the number of specimens. And who is it?

We have an amazing location in that we're based at Lancaster Castle and in a former prison - A wing. And it all comes full circle in that police recruits in the 1920s and 1930s slept in A wing and did their training here.

Day 29, #museum30 , #wall . One of the joys of creating the exhibition #PharaonicObsessions was recreating Petrie's pre-dynastic ceramics seriation chart as a feature wall. The pots were mostly acquired though The Egypt Exploration Society from 1900-1901 excavations at Diospolis Parva.

The Rausing Building, now part of the Athelstan Museum, was formerly a Moravian Church.
While renovating to turn it into a modern meeting space, we retained the character of the stained glass windows.
