I wasn't prepared to get buzzed by this #ShortearedOwl . Or at least the camera wasn't! And the owl seemed to have some sort of beef with me? By blowing on my call, I might of been messing up its evening hunt? He flew almost into my face and straight up in the air above me...
Couple of shorties hunting just south of Donna nook this evening. Also peregrine, buzzard, kestrel, barn owl and ringtail hen harrier through (southeast).

Still buzzing after seeing this gorgeous #ShortEaredOwl last night on the shores of Lough Corrib. I watched it for a full half hour at dusk just perched there. A male Hen Harrier came for a look too. Very low light but nice to capture them in the same frame. 🦉
'Ayes to the right'
As the #shortearedowl flew towards the setting sun, the golden hour radiated in its eyes & on its wings. Then it turned that incredible revolving head & its piercing eyes came smacking down my lens
