Here’s a curlew (red-listed) desperately searching for its nest after the field has been mowed for silage.

Mowing fields in May is a relatively recent thing. Across much of Spain, it is prohibited, to protect nesting wildlife from being macerated.

This week we saw a MAJOR lifeline to curlew numbers in the Severn and Avon Vales!

SIX chicks have been recorded from two nests – both born to pairs with one head-started and one wild bird 🐣

One of my bogey birds the Woodlark I always struggle to find them at Cavenham Heath but it was the stone curlew which i couldn't find.
