SUPER PLEASED by our 1st time out with hexagonal thinking! These kids rocked it! No notes, no textbooks, no computers — just extemporaneous connections made in small groups to showcase our learning. What a great way to show how EVERYTHING is connected!

Looking for an idea to compare Moses & Abraham for my ancient Israel unit, I found inspiration for a different standard within the same unit: ’s . Comparing the kingdoms and lives of Saul, David & Solomon worked out great with this!

Kudos to Niko and Victoria on a great job representing the OMS History Club at last night's School Committee meeting, and spreading the word about what we're doing every Thursday!

I was out yesterday & tasked my students to take what we've learned about ancient Israel thus far & turn it into AI-generated artwork. I left instructions on thinking about writing a good prompt, tinkering to get things just right, etc. Here's a 🧵 of some of their work.

After 15 yrs have decided to pursue my educational leadership journey. With that I bid farewell to NPS. I will miss all of my colleagues, students, and friends. I welcome this new chapter in my life at Great Oaks Charter School as a humanities coach.

Mr. Nasis joined History Club to play test a card game he’s developing. In this game, players take on the persona of Enlightenment thinkers like Locke, Montesquieu, and Rousseau, and engage in a salon discussion and exchange of ideas based on modern real world scenarios.

'The Pharaoh's Quest: Reaching the Field of Reeds' was a huuuuge hit yesterday, and it was all a bit of late night inspiration rushed into production for the next morning. It was a lot of work, not much sleep, but ultimately worth it! moriartyhistory.blogspot.com/2024/03/the-ph…

Mesopotamian review game as we read through the Epic of Gilgamesh. Team Gilgamesh & Team Enkidu took on Team Humbaba, tossing axes as part of a curricular review activity. Huge fun for the kids, and really pleased with how well they did academically (and throwing axes)!
