Take the distance from Moose Jaw, Sask. to Tofino, BC — from the prairies across the mountains, down to the ocean — and flip it so it's pointing north-south. Put the southern tip of that distance on Iqaluit. The other end is where I'm going next, for The Guardian, and I can't wait.

One time I was on a boat near Tofino and the captain stopped us, reached into a cooler and pulled out a salmon. He held it up above his head. Seconds later a large eagle swooped down and took the fish from his hands. It was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever experienced.
