Well done to Level 2 Brickwork apprentice, Josh who has excelled in his apprenticeship. The former Parklands pupil won Apprentice of the Year at our awards evening and is set to progress to full-time work with his employer, J Sidlow Brickwork after receiving high praise.

Our students and staff have been enjoying the final day's activities for our #GreenWeek which have included soap making and a tree guided walk around Mesnes Park.

It was fantasic to have pupils from Lowton CofE High with us this morning for an Advanced Civil Engineering masterclass.

The pupils had the chance to learn about how to conduct a site survey and understand how to use transferrable skills from their school subjects.

Well done to our Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering - Fabricator apprentices who have created these fantastic windmills as part of their end point assessment for their sheet work.

This will go towards them achieving their qualifications as skilled metal workers.

It's #BowelCancerAwarenessMonth and this week, Nova and Tracey from Bolton NHS Foundation Trust spent the day with Health & Social Care students to talk about the importance of screening and early diagnosis.

As part of #greenweek we welcomed local business owner, Caeryn Collins, who talked to our students about the impact our carbon footprints have on the planet. The students were asked to consider what they can do in their daily lives to lower their carbon footprint.

As #GreenWeek continues, we want to highlight our fantastic staff using eco-friendly modes of transport on their way to work. Public Transport, car sharing, cycling and walking are all great ways to make our commutes greener. #GMCollegesGreenWeek

For Green Week the Creative and Performing Arts students were challenged to 'Dress for the world you want', to see if they could take the pricey look of a celebrity, or to take on fast fashion by repurposing garments to create similar looks, thereby promoting sustainable fashion.

Today's #GreenWeek theme is 'Green Travel Tuesday' and staff have embraced the occasion with many opting to car share, use public transport or make the most of the nice weather by walking or cycling into work. #GMCollegesGreenWeek
