We had so much fun cycling all the way to Roslyn! This 16 mile round trip was a new record for some, and took us through some real gems of Edinburgh's greenspace including Craigmillar Castle Park and Little France Park. We love exploring our local greenspaces and cycle routes.

The conservation group are helping to create wildflower meadows in the Royal Ed Orchard. We were busy making a woven fence with the willow from our coppice to try and discourage anyone stepping on the patches.

Our latest Branching Out group had a fascinating day with Johnny from the Water of Leith Conservation Trust. We learned about the history of the river and the work of the Trust to conserve and enhance the river for people and wildlife.

We had a busy morning at Redford Woods; clearing litter, cutting back over-hanging branches and clearing the winter mud from the paths. Great to get out and look after the woods for people and wildlife

Between this there was a car stopped awkwardly on a corner letting their kid out and another trying to turn at the corner to do the same and someone stopped on zigzags outside the school. You can tell schools are back by the increased traffic and poor driving.

This morning I witnessed a silent standoff between a Porsche driver and a land rover driver over who had right of way near a school. Rounded the corner to a car on the pavement with double yellows, got blocked by a driver as I tried to get in the bike lane.

Driver 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Respect your right to disagree, but I would personally prioritise safety of pedestrians, vulnerable road users and indeed drivers over an increased speed limit.

Stephen How many deaths are acceptable? Most of Edinburgh is ahead of the curve with majority streets 20mph already and the % drop in fatal accidents as a result of the change was non-negligible

Mark Hodson Just imagine the additional carnage these unnecessary protrusions will cause to a pedestrian in a crash!

If they aren't illegal on the public road, then they should be... otherwise what's the point of having crash test standards?
