Social housing is only a 'limited resource' because the government have made it so.

They must stop hiding behind these smokescreen proposals and actually do something that will make a difference – they need to build 90,000 social homes a year to give families a stable home. 🏡⌛️

Council tax is regressive. More so than income tax or national insurance. So what does the government consider: reducing national insurance and, in effect, force council tax to rise. Poorer people will then pay for council services rather than richer. Inequality rises. Again.

Public services have been savaged by austerity. Institute for Fiscal Studies reports that further cuts are planned. Can the Chancellor really be planning tax cuts? If so, say out loud what is being given up in order to fund increases in income for those who pay tax.

As our project makes clear - poverty is a breach of our human rights.

It's great that the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is now in Scots Law.

Now we'll work with our members and others to make those rights a reality.

The situation in the UK is deeply concerning. Health is declining and health inequalities are widening. This is not the case with other European countries. The UK's rankings have gone down since 2014. What a tragic waste of lives UCL The BMJ

The editorial team at The Guardian wrote on Sunday that tackling should be a national priority for our govt. We agree.

3.8 million people are experiencing destitution, yet the UK has the 6th largest economy in the world.

Taking tents away from rough sleepers - and punishing charities who give those tents out? What a cruel idea. It won't fix homelessness. It'll just make people's lives harder. Shame on you Suella Braverman MP. Sign now to get these plans scrapped: 38d.gs/aqtz

Punishing the vulnerable, not addressing the causes and getting in the way of those that care and have solutions! A measure of who we have as our leaders! We don't need to look to other shores to see abject cruelty, discrimination and deliberate harm here it is right here!
