Grateful to the Human Cell Atlas for including our work in their official publication list. This is such a honour!

Looking forward to see more amniotic fluid cells data to the atlas!

Scientists identified and isolated viable 🧫 epithelial stem/progenitor cells.

Upon culturing, these cells formed clonal epithelial , manifesting small intestine, kidney tubule, and lung identity.

Check out these fantastic new advances from Paolo De Coppi at GOSH, @UCLChildHealth and international partners, showing for the first time how we can understand development in late pregnancy and even predict health conditions before birth using stem cells👇 gosh.nhs.uk/news/stem-cell…

In 1952, amidst concerns linking smoking to cancer, Kent cigarettes introduced an asbestos filter as a measure to safeguard its smokers. With each inhalation, asbestos fibers from the filter made their way into the lungs of smokers.

Congratulations to Max A Beesley, our first PhD graduate!

In just 3 years, Max drafted and annotated the first single cell atlas of the unperturbed human amniotic fluid.

As start up lab, we could not hope for a better recruit. Big papers and a bright future ahead!

I love the reactions when i answer to this classic icebreaker question at organoid conferences:

“Adult, iPS or cancer?”

“Primary fetal”

“Oh, wow! Wait, …how?!?”

Can’t wait to share with you our little trick to derive primary fetal organoids from continuing pregnancies, without the need for tissue samples or reprogramming.
