An early start at RSPB Middleton Lakes rewarded me with a typically brief Whimbrel. Also Garganey 2 C Sand Green Sand LRP Redshank 2 Snipe 4 Shelduck and finally a Lesser Whitethroats just in Warks to complete the 10 Warbler set Mercian Birding Staffs Bird News WestMidsBirding
Sometimes the best #Birdwatching days are the unplanned ones. My visit today was excellent with displaying Redshank, Curlew and a very showey Gargany all at RSPB Middleton Lakes West Midland Bird Club

Worth dragging myself out of bed this morning with a superb breeding-plumaged Spotted Redshank to greet me at dawn RSPB Middleton Lakes. A skulky Wood Sand, 3 Green Sands & 2m Garganey were further bonuses. Also LRP, 3 Snipe, CSand & Swift. Staffs Bird News

It's #wardenwednesday and the team have been busy fixing fences. This is an annual task, one which takes priority now we have finished the habitat work for the season. This year getting fence posts in the ground is a little easier thanks to the wet ground!
