I felt very low today, sitting in an unsaleable flat paying a huge service fee and the threat of section 20 £12k including the fire alarm. Back on sertraline I read that one of the side effects is suicidal thoughts. I got out, went for a coffee. I wish I'd never bought leasehold

This is the reality for so many leaseholders stuck in the #BuildingSafetyCrisis .
It has been caused directly by Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities & the Conservatives.

And some housing associations bought these leases, then sold underleases to shared owners expecting them to pay for both sets of lease extensions.

'We've had so many false alarms, we may end up in a situation where there is a genuine fire and people don't respond to the alarm.'

A major risk with 'mitigation' plans: you simply can't trust developers to retrofit alarms correctly.

Child protection worker and domestic abuse specialist speaking after a home visit with a survivor.

Case Worker: I interviewed that mother before and she didn't disclose about the abuse when I spoke to her. Last time she was in denial. That was like magic, the way she opened up

Me (talking to professionals): Domestic violence perpetrators don't just target physical safety. They also target self-determination and satisfaction.

Social Worker: I never shared this before in professional setting but my dad tried to kill my mother when I was very young.

I hope that this sets a precedent and shows advocates and other defence lawyers that actions have consequences, and they cannot say and do whatever they please regardless of the law.
