New resources for Swiss German dialect: We release 4 text encoder models trained on written Swiss German.
• Blogpost: vamvas.ch/swiss-german-e…
All the models are up on the Hugging Face hub, ready to be downloaded and used: hf.co/models?author=…
how do you evaluate systems that generate non-standardized #dialects ?
check out our WMT23 paper 📜arxiv.org/abs/2311.16865 — with Chantal Amrhein, Florian Schottmann, and Rico Sennrich
While previous work mainly studied multi-agent interaction in controlled environments and state observations, Andrea Bajcsy and I were interested in seeing what happens when deploying 'in the wild' with only camera observations. We find that constraints bring about creativity!
Congratulations to Chantal Amrhein , who just successfully defended her PhD on 'Manipulating Data Representations for Neural Machine Translation'!
Super excited to share that my internship project at Textshuttle is accepted to #ACL2023NLP ! ✨
We create training data for gender-fair rewriting without any rules - only by exploiting biased MT models:

🌎 i‘m very excited to visit Gašper Beguš and the Berkeley Speech & Computation for 6 months to learn more about speech processing!lesson 1: 🐳 have dialects too 😁
Honored to receive the Georges Giralt PhD Award 🥇 (awarded to Europe's best thesis in Robotics 🤖) for my work on #learning vision-based high-speed #drone flight ✈️! Thanks to Davide Scaramuzza for the great supervision and all my collaborators! Thesis: tinyurl.com/yc33b73b
