Water companies in England have incurred debts of more than £64,000,000,000.

We won't get the water infrastructure we need with privatised water.

I have co-sponsored Early Day Motion 738, calling for English water companies to be brought under public control.

This is a petition to force the Govt to clean up our water. Something they should have done years ago.

Week 24 of the strike against sewage has come to an end. That’s now officially two days of my life spent outside of this monstrous waste of money.

Genuine and not genuine discharges highly correlate suggesting some false alarms might not be false or that whatever triggers real events also triggers false events 🤷‍♂️

CSOs which discharge most frequently also discharge for longer durations. If these occur in sensitive locations then they are no brainier to tackle first.

Southern Water categorised some of its genuine spills as “non-impacting” on the basis that water quality at nearby bathing water beaches are likely not to be affected. We found non-impacting discharges can last multiple tidal cycles (red lines). Some lasted 70 days. Log scale
