I’ve been asking for a new approach to the #CladdingCrisis for sometime now… wasn’t quite expecting this from Michael Gove though 😳

During the #CladdingCrisis , the Govt has failed to protect many leaseholders from paying huge sums of money to fix their fire safety defects.

The truth is that the #claddingcrisis affects so much. Pain is being felt in all sectors but it need the biggest players, government, banks, insurance companies and of course developers to sort it out. Householders are the powerless in this matter.

Many leaseholders in Putney and beyond are being forced to pay thousands for waking watch, insurance and remediation works through no fault of their own.

The Minister needs to get a grip and solve the #claddingcrisis now.

A day in the life of the #CladdingCrisis : 3rd false fire alarm in 3 months this AM. Now trying to keep warm in flat with no insulation, ripped off in winter to meet BSF deadlines. 2 pairs of tights under fleece joggers, 2 jumpers, fleece slippers, hat, gloves & heater is on.

1) My GP, who has been great & put me on anti anxiety meds to cope with the #claddingcrisis , said during our last check up that, although I’m stressed about imminently living on a building site and “getting compensation is time consuming”, it will at least be over. I took...

While leaseholders are told they must pay for remediation works and other associated costs of #FireSafety defects, leaving many facing bankruptcy - developers are taking no responsibility. We need Govt to intervene to sort the #claddingcrisis now.
