This week, EXPRESS acted as the bad guys in Plymouth Sound whilst conducting some key training with 47 Commando (Raiding Group) Royal Marines 💪🗡 #ExpressDelivery

After 18 months in Command, Lt Ryan Price, hands over EXPRESS to Lt Harry Stubbington. National tasking, multiple deployments and countless visitors. None of it could have been done without every member of the ship’s company, past and present. Stay tuned for the next chapter.

Last week we took part in the #RN1TonneChallenge and swept the Barry Island beach. We managed to collect nearly 10kg of litter and rubbish from the beach, with lots of people engaging and chatting with us and a few even joined in. A good afternoon for a good cause.

This week’s #RoyalNavy update is with the F-35B Lightning jets of 617 Squadron as they prepare to join HMS Queen Elizabeth for her imminent deployment. The nation’s flagship will soon join HMS Prince of Wales at sea, as the UK’s aircraft carriers head off on operations.

Last week we had the honour of hosting Katherine Jenkins and Brigadier Jock Fraser Royal Marines as they announced her sponsorship of HMS CARDIFF. After a tour, we sailed into the bay and Katherine demonstrated her natural helmsman skills and even presented our DMEO with his #herbertlott award Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity

Last month 4 OC's spent 10 days on HMS EXPRESS transiting through Germany, the Netherlands & Belgium before crossing the channel to Portsmouth. They got involved with every aspect of the ships routine, from mooring & helming to the cooking and cleaning. Everyone had a great time!

CFS getting up to some really interesting stuff these days. The RN is slowly regenerating a lost culture of inshore adaptability.

Coastal Forces (CF) have long been neglected. Since 2020, the RN has reestablished its CF Sqdn and is actively experimenting to reacquire this capability.

Over the last period at sea we were joined by University students from URNU Bristol and URNU Birmingham. We visited multiple ports across Germany and Sweden and culminated our time together with a Royal Navy tradition, ‘Splice the Mainbrace’ in honour of the King’s Coronation 🇬🇧
