Mixed feelings! Great that people engage in wildlife, but more Blue & Great Tits than other species combined, boosted by feeders.
Marsh Tits fast declining in Hunts, Willow Tits extinct. We've created landscape full of dominant competitor Blue/Great Tits: britishbirds.co.uk/content/rethin…

Persistence is the mother of all success. Finally managed to read Whimbrel WN/GR, ringed by the Eco Flyway team at a nearby high-tide roost.

In the background you hear the local 'amolador' blowing his whistle to advertise his tool-sharpening services to the people of Alcochete.

As the tide receded this morning a handsome flock of 36 Whimbrel took a break from foraging. Among them were three individuals colour-ringed by the Eco Flyway crew.

If eponyms were still a thing, I'd be tempted to call these 'Camilo's Curlew'. 😉 Camilo Carneiro
