Time is running out for nature.
Focus on the environment has been lost since 2016
Another year is being squandered now
The next election must bring change

Also watched this Jay flying back & forth with carefully selected twigs. Each of the twigs were broken off from branches, rather than picked up from the ground. You can see him/her building the nest in the last part of the video... British Trust for Ornithology in Cornwall Cornwall Birds

Great to see a few Swallows feeding along the seafront and around the Moot Hall at Aldeburgh this afternoon. The recent windy and chilly spell must have been been a difficult time for them, so it's really good to have them back!

A Comma in the Blackberries.
Always lifts the spirits when you notice the Blackberry flowers are about to open - no going back to winter then, - Surely???

I was rather taken aback watching these Large Red Damselflies catching flies by the pond yesterday.
Their hawking skill was fantastic, with a 100% catch rate during the time I was watching them.

All in the April evening, April Hares were abroad.
This large Hare crossed the track in front of me, moving from it's daytime form in the woods, out into the open fields.
He looked to be carrying the scars of many Mad March battles - a bruiser amongst hares.

Really nice to hear a number of Garden Warbler singing away during an inland Breeding Bird Survey this morning. Not something I get to hear much on the coast.... 🎢 πŸ”Š

Our garden chicks left the nest this afternoon in , at least 6 (C7). They can look quite scary at this stage. Let's hope we can get them big enough for Mark Lucas to colour ring York Birding Aurora #LicencedBirdRinger
