This is great news! Lack of UL Certification has been a barrier to schools using DIY air cleaners that are cheaper, provide better CADR, quieter and more energy efficient. Congratulations!

Great work! I really like the use of PM measurements. The fan will work the hardest when it is needed most! So much better than turning off the air cleaner to address the noise problem! Thanks!

Watch this outstanding video/simulation showing how MERV 13 filters in a can outperform a HEPA air cleaner! It is Filter + Fit + Flow!

Jim Rosenthal *sigh* this is the future, isn't it? AI generated news scraped by AI to fabricate garbage in an ouroboros of cyclical referencing.

Anthony Michael Kreis Make yourself a DIY Corsi-Rosenthal filter, which was invented by Richard Corsi, PhD, PE (Texas) & Jim Rosenthal to provide public school teachers with an effective, affordable air filter to protect themselves and their students from COVID during the pandemic. It also protects against smoke & pollen.

Sorry, you are missing the point about the need to look at CADR and filter effectiveness. Comparing HEPA filters to MERV 13’s just measures filter efficiency. Because of higher resistance and lower air flow, the HEPA’s will not remove more particles. Look at the data!

The important number to look at is CADR or filter effectiveness - not filter efficiency. Filter effectiveness is a function of Filter + Fit + Flow. This applies to filters used in HVAC systems as well. We need to focus on particle removal - not single pass filter tests.

Alex Kessler has put together a shorter explanation of the principle championed by Richard Corsi, PhD, PE (Texas) and Jim Rosenthal: less restrictive filters ~MERV13 outperform HEPA as room purifiers. This tiktok is a good share for those new to our movement! tiktok.com/t/ZTLyRsovs/

My precious mischievous olive figured out that Merv 13 filters are super fun to claw at bc they poof & also it makes me really mad really quick! I’m actually surprised it took her this long tbh

Any efficacy data for filters ripped by cats? lol

Pretty cool and a great idea. But the numbers don't look right. CO2 in most schools less than 200ppm? It should be more like 400 to 600ppm for a well ventilated indoor environment.
