Joined up with Geoff & Kim for another excellent morning at RSPB Minsmere 🌍 Highlights inc Stone Curlews, Cuckoo, Bearded Tits, Common & Sandwich Terns, Garden Warbler, Hobbies. Finished the day by finally tracking down the Hoopoe at Wangford Quarry.

Clyde Ringing Group - Tiree wader-fest! Another great session with mainly waders caught. 77 new birds: 27 Turnstone, 14 Sanderling, 14 Dunlin, 4 Ringed Plover, 1 Whimbrel, a stunning Curlew Sandpiper + a Barr-tailed Godwit control! 5 Little Terns + 8 Arctics +3 Commons as well!

A Wood Warbler aglow at Dowlaw (Borders) – one of my favourite birds, and my first there. With a Quail singing early a.m. near Longniddry and a Curlew Sandpiper at Tyninghame, it was a great day! Birding Lothian.

Warm misty start to the day here in Yorkshire as sheep bleat and a Curlew cries out in the distance...

There are very few breeding waders left in the Cotswolds so we are trying to do all we can to help those still hanging on-electric fencing curlew, locating/marking lapwing nests so farmers can avoid them when drilling and monitoring oystercatchers Keith Jennings #glosbirds

BH Monday walk from Hamsterley Forest up a road made of old bricks onto the fell. The fragrance of the gorse was tropical in the sun. The clouds were ominous but it was so warm walking listening to the curlews singing.

The perfect wake-up call. There used to be more lapwings and golden plovers here, but I don't remember these curlew calls filling the landscape as they do today.

No idea if it was the lack of scope & tripod but I couldn't stop walking in the peaks, did 9 miles. Best were year ticks of parachuting Tree Pipit & calling Red Grouse. Also Cuckoo & Curlews in flight, Mipit v caterpillar, Peregrine, Ravens, singing Stonechats & Sprawk.
