If landlords were allowed to raise rent 8% every year (the current LARSO max), then rent would *double* in 9 years! #LARSO2024

Los Angeles Housing Department did a dirty deal with our landlord that lets him evict us for rent debt over our four year rent strike. Solidarity with tenants across the city who are struggling with rent debt.

Evictions have returned to pre-pandemic levels w/ 71,429 notices filed with the Housing Dept between Feb-Nov 2023. The overwhelming majority were filed for nonpayment of rent. A USGAO study found that a $100 median rent increase was associated with a 9% increase in homelessness.
