Fascinating study from Sudha Seshadri, MD and Framingham. Cranial + brain volumes increased every birth decade, supporting idea that improved public health over 20th century ⬆️ brain reserve and contributed to ⬇️dementia rates. Why we need a lifecourse approach!

Prof Read shares a 2006 article including 99 persons with a #schizophrenia diagnosis in Finland. But a 2020 paper with 62,250 patients (same diagnosis, same country, 20 year follow up) shows a protective effect of antipsychotic medication (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31922669/)
